Wedding or no wedding?  That was the questions.  Not without "Charlie" as ring bearer said the groom, Alex Wajsfelner.  The minister of the church very nicely agreed so "Charlie", attired in a tuxedo, delivered the rings on a white satin heart tied to his back, on cue, to the altar.  He did such a great job and everybody was happy.

Charlie was born in 1984 and adopted by Alex in 1991.  At that time, Grannie Annie had fostered him and showed him to Alex.  Immediately, "Charlie" jumped into Alex's truck to never leave him until Charlie died at 16 1/2 years of age in 2001.  Charlie always went to work with Alex and never took his eyes off of him.

A little side story:  The butterflies and floweres around Charlie's square on the quilt are over 65 years old.  At that time in Germany, Alex's mom collected them.  They came in packs of cigarettes, one in each card.
