| We adopted Bo on April 29, 2000.
We had been looking to add another dog to our family (which then consisted
of Mom, Dad and Bessie-a deaf OES), but hadn't found just the right one.
My husband liked the idea of getting a "mostly" so when Grannie Annie told
us about Bo, off we went to take a look. Well, it was love at first
sight between my husband and Bo, and even Bessie decided to tolerate him.
So, we added Bo to the family and Bessie got a brother who was the same
age as her (they were both born in 1992). Since then, Bessie and
Bo act like typical siblings. Sharing and arguing with each other,
depending on their moods. Because of their relationship, I had to
include a picture of the both of them, on the beach of the cove in Maine
last summer (their favorite vacation spot to go) where we go for vacation.
The other picture is of Bo playing in the beautiful Fall leaves.
The expression on his face just seemed to capture his personality- sweet,
gentle and laid back. Except of course when he sees food. Bo's
biggest motivator in life is food, of any sort. While this has proved
to have some drawbacks around our new baby (and their new 2 legged sister,
Juliette), all are handling it well. But what would a quilt square
for Bo be without some reference to food? Hence, the cutout of the
sheepie eating at his dog bowl with the bones in the background: it represents
Bo's love of food. To sum it up, this is a simple square about Bo.
He's made a lasting impression on our hearts and we're so glad that we
have him. And this square is just a little example to show others
what we feel. |
